LOTUS TEMPLE (BAHA'I TEMPLE)
A lotus-shaped temple, a symbol common to Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Islam, open to prayer and meditation.
This monument, completed in 1986, serves as a temple for the Baha'i community. Its lotus shape symbolizes the mystical quest advocated by the followers of this religion, but is also a common symbol of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Islam. This ecumenical religion appeared in Iran in the 19th century and advocates peace and tolerance between religious communities. The temple is open for prayer and meditation to all, regardless of belief. There is a small museum on the site explaining Baha'i. Access is free, but requires a ticket.
