HANUMAN TEMPLE
The temple is the spiritual center of Connaught Place, where Hanuman, the leader of the monkey army, is worshipped with offerings.
Another achievement of maharajah Jaï Singh II, probably built on the site of an ancient sanctuary, this temple is the undisputed spiritual center of Connaught Place. Here one venerates Hanuman, the chief of the monkey army who, according to the epic of the Ramayana, put his troops at the service of the god Rama in order to deliver the princess Sita, prisoner of the demon Ravana in the island of Ceylon. For his loyalty to Rama, Hanuman is considered a model of Vishnu devotion(bhakti). Watch as devotees come to place offerings before the statue of the deity.
