HAUZ KHAS
Founded in the century by Sultan Ala ud-Din, only the hauz or reservoir remains, now a middle-class residential area.
Not much remains of Siri, the city founded in the early 14th century by Sultan Ala ud-Din. Only the reservoir(hauz) remains. The tombs and the madrasa in the park date back to the Tughlaq dynasty (between the 14th and early 15th centuries). Thirty years ago, Hauz Khas was still a village where you could see chickens, cows and people taking a nap on charpoys. Today, it is a bourgeois residential area, frequented by the golden youth of Delhi and especially the place to be for shopping and going out.
