HAVELI D'ANANDA LAL PODDAR
A haveli with a highly decorated façade to the east of the city, and courtyards with densely-painted frescoes
Dating from the beginning of the 20th century, the haveli of Ananda Lal Poddar raises its very richly decorated frontage at the east of the city. It is one of the few to have been restored by its owners. The inner courtyards have very dense frescoes recounting the adventures of Krishna with his shepherdess companions, the amiable gopi. Other frescoes represent more or less fantasized visions of Chinese, French or English architecture.
