THAKUJI TEMPLE
250-year-old temple with a bulbous roof, dedicated to Krishna, offering a beautiful view of Jhunjhunu, a peaceful and pleasant place
Push through the small wrought iron gate and climb the steps to reach this 250 year old temple. Dedicated to Krishna, it was used as a place of worship by the family who built it. They used to celebrate weddings and religious festivals on the roof. From there, you will have a beautiful view of Jhunjhunu and the magnificent bulbous roof of the temple. Note also the gold paintings on the ceiling of the central room. At 11:30 am, prayers are chanted to the sound of the drum and bell. A peaceful and pleasant place, very little frequented by tourists.
