TARAGARH FORT
Fort located at the top of a hill overlooking Ajmer, accessible via a very steep path and offering superb views over the region
Built at the beginning of the XIIth century, it does not present any more but ruins and a 3 kilometers long surrounding wall. Located at the top of a hill overlooking Ajmer, it was the center of power of Emperor Chohan Vigraharaja IV (1150-1164) before the arrival of the Persians. The access to the fort is done by a very steep path, but from the top the view on the region is really superb. The fort was disarmed by the British who transformed it into a sanatorium for their troops. It is now in a state of abandonment, but still offers a view of the city.
