84 PILLAR CENOTAPH
Majestic cenotaph on a high platform decorated with friezes, erected for the governess of the king of Bundi, Rao Raja Anirudh
Standing on a high platform adorned with friezes, this majestic cenotaph rivals the finest chhatris in Rajasthan. Yet it was erected not for any prince or king, but for a governess. The King of Bundi Rao Raja Anirudh commissioned its construction in 1683 in memory of his beloved nanny. Built on two levels, the first supports a set of bell towers and a central dome with onion-bulb roofs characteristic of Rajput architecture. Can you find all 84 pillars? The only regret is that the site is a little remote.
