Fort built in 1354, worth a visit for a pleasant stroll and a magnificent view of Bundi at sunset

Taragarh Fort, which means Fort of the Star, was built in 1354 by Rao Raja Bar Singh. Left abandoned, its visit is nevertheless a beautiful walk offering a magnificent view of Bundi, especially at sunset. Watch out for monkeys! As a precaution, carry a stick; it should be enough to keep them away.

Among the points of interest inside the fort: the Bheem Burj, in the centre, is the highest tower of the fort; the cenotaph formed of 84 pillars and erected by Bhai Deva, the brother of Bheem Rao Anirudh Singh.

a fort a bit different from the other forts of the rajahstan, measures or it was abandoned for many years. however, its character more " in ruine" the others that gives it a certain style. you will regret the lack of lighting in some rooms containing interesting paintings.
