Bazaar located on a shopping street in the old town, lined with small stalls, ideal for strolling or browsing
Away from the tourist circuits, Bundi has managed to preserve its soul of yesteryear. It offers visitors passing through one of the typical examples of added architecture. In addition to its historical monuments, it is pleasant to stroll through the winding alleyways of the old town admiring the colourful wall frescoes and the old blue limed houses reminiscent of Jodhpur. To the traveller's delight, the sound of horns is rare as soon as one leaves the main street; the city enjoys a certain tranquillity.
The mess. The main street that connects the lower city to the old city houses a typical shopping street of Rajasthan villages. Small stalls line the street, shoppers stroll between the stalls of fabric, food, supplies and create fascinating scenes of life to observe. Don't miss the dagger and knife maker, the artist-painter of traditional miniatures, the cooks who fry pakoras or gulab in their big cauldrons.
The Bundi Festival. Late November or early December for 3 days. The festival begins with a procession bringing together the different communities dressed in their traditional costumes. The crowd gathered around the palace before descending towards the bazaar and then gathering on the police manoeuvring area. In the evening, cultural events are organized (dance shows, traditional music...). Provide earplugs...
