GATEWAY

On the street leading to the City Palace from the Jagdish temple, the Gateway is the address that really comes into its own. You have to go up one floor, above the stores, to sit on the large terrace where you can watch the bustle of the street. Although the food is not the best you'll find in Udaipur, we do appreciate the existence of this restaurant, which means you don't have to walk any further after a long visit to the City Palace. And it's one of the few restaurants in the area open out of season. We regret the lackadaisical service.
