REAL ART SCHOOL

This co-operative with 10 artists and their teacher, Dr. Mohammed Rashid, sells and organizes exhibitions. Artists use an ancestral technique: use of natural pigments and squirrel hair brushes. Miniature drawings, on silk, marble and formica, are very precise. The colours are obtained from minerals (iron oxide, sulphur, cobalt, zinc oxide) and are then mixed with Arabic gum. Sheets of gold and silver, polished with a moon stone, are also used. It takes 8 to 10 days to carry out a silk work, 3 to 4 months on Formica. The price depends on the work provided and the artist's level. For example, if a master design requires 10 working days, it will cost no less than 1 000 Rs.
