Small palace with breathtaking views of the citadel, deluxe rooms, evening meals accompanied by folklore performances

Balconies, canopies and especially jialis of this small palace of Anglo-Indian style are absolutely fabulous. The view on the citadel is grandiose. The deluxe rooms are a bit expensive, rather impersonal, but the beds are big and comfortable. As for the suites, they are absolutely magnificent and more in keeping with the place. The evening meal is accompanied by a folkloric show. And don't forget your bathing suit, there is even a swimming pool.

Très beau palais à l’entrée de la vieille ville (peut également se visiter si on n’est pas client). Nous avons testé la Golden Room, très spacieuse, avec boudoir et salle de bain immense. La décoration est un peu kitsch mais l’ensemble est magnifique et on se croirait vraiment au temps des maharadjas en déambulant dans les couloirs, jardins et diverses salles, tous plus beaux les uns que les autres. Pour compléter le tout une belle piscine (très très chlorée : attention à vos bijoux en argent qui seront décapés...) pour se relaxer entre deux visites. Petit déjeuner continental pas terrible dans une belle salle du palais mais ne pas hésiter à demander au personnel pour avoir un excellent PD indien ! Le restaurant situé en terrasse sur les toits offre une vue exceptionnelle sur le fort de la ville mais c’est son seul intérêt car la nourriture y est vraiment quelconque (et adaptée aux touristes occidentaux, c’est à dire pratiquement plus épicée...). Une très belle adresse malgré ces légères critiques !
