THE THAR HERITAGE MUSEUM
Small museum housing art objects, fossils, turbans and more, with a room dedicated to the opium ceremony
This small museum is the work of Mr. Laxmi Narayan Khatri, a collector with a passion for Rajasthani culture. He has written a book entitled Jaisalmer, Folklore, History and Architecture. The museum houses art objects, fossils dating from the time when the sea occupied what is now a desert, camel ornaments and harnesses, kitchen utensils, musical instruments, turbans... all treasures that testify to the cultural wealth of the region and the history of the desert. A room is reserved for the opium ceremony.
