SETH BHANDASAR JAIN TEMPLE
Jain temple, one of the few with murals depicting the lives of holy men, processions or court scenes
At the end of the 15th century, Bhandasar Oswal, a wealthy Jain trader, ordered the construction of this temple, which was later embellished with donations from devotees. Forty tons of ghee were used for the foundations. It is one of the few Jain temples to contain murals evoking the lives of tirthankars (holy men), processions or court scenes. The central chapel houses a statue of the fifth tirthankar, Sumtinath. A welcome donation.
