BHADRA FORT
Bhadra citadel fort with 14 towers and 8 gates housing a temple with a black statue of the four-armed goddess Kali.
The citadel of Bhadra built in 1411 by Ahmed Shah, housed royal palaces, a mosque in the west wing and an open space, the Maidan Shah, in the east wing. The fort encircled the old city with fortified walls, 14 towers and 8 majestic gates(darwaza). The main part of the fort is near the Teen Darwaza. Part of the northern wing was converted into a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali during the period of the Maratha Empire. This temple houses a beautiful black statue of the four-armed goddess. The fort was renovated in 2014 and again in 2023.
