It is impossible to pass by Diu without visiting this vestige of the Portuguese colonial era. Built in 1541 and completely renovated in 2023, this fort transports the visitor to an even more distant past as it lacks maintenance. The visit is short but pleasant. The first part of the fort houses a prison. You then reach the bastions along the sea. The fort also houses an old chapel which served as an arsenal. A visit to the fort is an opportunity for a pleasant walk among old stones, wild grass and sea spray.
