RUKMINI DEVI TEMPLE

This superb temple is dedicated to Rukmini, the wife of Krishna. The present structure dates back to the ^19th century, but the temple is said to date back to the ^12th century, and even more than 2500 years according to the legend. The exterior is adorned with rich carvings finely chiseled into the stone. The shrine houses a magnificent marble statue of Devi Rukmini, with four arms each holding a different symbolic object. At the entrance to the temple, hundreds of sadhus give alms, and if a pilgrim gives them this offering, the voices rise along with the hands to thank for the gift.
