KHIJADIYA BIRD SANCTUARY
A bird sanctuary with a unique ecosystem of around 220 species of birds and many other animals.
Located 12 km from the city center, and therefore easily accessible by auto-rickshaw, this bird sanctuary has two marshes, one freshwater and one saltwater, and is home to an ecosystem unique in India. There are about 220 species of birds, as well as many insects, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals and herbivores. It is better to go there early in the morning. The best time to visit the sanctuary is from October to February, when birds from Siberia or the mountains of Pakistan come to seek warmth.
