SHARAD BAUG PALACE
The maharaja's former home, dating from the century, houses a small museum with relics that once belonged to the maharaja.
Most of it was destroyed, especially the entire third floor, during the 2001 earthquake. The former residence of the maharaja, also known as Rajavatika, still has its central building. Built by an Italian architect in the early 19th century, it was completed in 1926. A small museum housed in the old reception hall adjacent to the main building displays some relics that belonged to the maharaja. The large flower gardens are a stopover for migratory birds.
