PRAG MAHAL
A palace of surprising architecture commissioned by Maharaja Pragmalji in 1860, the Durbar Hall with its stuffed animals is a must-see.
What is left of the palace is worth seeing, especially the Durbar Hall with its stuffed animals in a sorry state and its golden caryatids under a half collapsed ceiling. A ghostly place. This palace with its surprising architecture was commissioned by the maharaja Pragmalji in 1860. The British architect probably remembered his travels in Italy and the campaniles of the churches when he drew the plans. Despite the severe damage caused by earthquakes, it is still possible to climb the bell tower.
