ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Archaeological museum opened in 1967 with 5 different wings featuring Hindu, Jain and Buddhist statues on the site
Very little visited, this archaeological museum opened in 1967 and comprises 5 different wings which gather Hindu, Jain and Buddhist statues found on the site of Khajuraho. The most interesting room is undoubtedly the one presenting the Pratibimba collection (second room), which reflects the power of art during the Chandela period. It includes 39 works from different temples of Khajuraho, including a dancing Ganesh, pieces of friezes, apsaras, a couple in erotic position, gods and goddesses or simple decorative elements.
