BODHGAYA ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum with stone and bronze statues and statuettes evoking scenes from the Buddhist and Brahman pantheons.
Established in 1956, this museum contains nearly 150 statues and statuettes in stone and bronze dated mostly from the 9th and 10th centuries. These statues and sculptures evoke scenes from the Buddhist pantheon of course, but also from the Brahmanic pantheon of that time, such as representations of Surya (sun god), signs of the zodiac... This visit is not essential, especially if you have already visited the museums of Sarnath or Nalanda.
