Only with family, or with friends, the most morning pilgrims start at 4 a. m. A wise idea, since the first temples appear only after 9 km of arduous climb (4 to 5 hours). To do this you have to add 9 km to turn around, and another 9 km for the descent that takes another path (one can cut a little). You have counted well: 27 miles. The vast majority of pilgrims complete the journey during the day. The bravest of them are barefoot and without drinking or eating, while women and old men generally rent the services of dholiwalas, carrying palanquins. The rise is strewn with dhabas that sell mineral water, but prices rise with altitude. A few restaurants are waiting for you. In the lush forest (over the first 4 kilometers), you will cross small villages inhabited by tribal populations that look in absolute destitution. Women with almost black and tattooed skin wait for a generous soul to lay down a few pennies in their squad. Gradually the trees are smaller, the song of the parrots more discreet, and the ridge of the hills crowned with white white appears. Almost 24 temples (end xviiie) of an immaculate whitewash, pretending to have been delicately deposited there by a fine aesthetic, a beautiful reward! After a last effort you will reach the state of the Jharkhand state (1,366 m). The panorama on the surrounding countryside is great. All you have to do is stroll through temple temple, accompanying hundreds of pilgrims from all over India. You will cross a few murasaha, these women dressed in a white and armies of a lance. They teach the basic principles of jaire. The route followed by the jaïns ends with the majestic temple dedicated to Parasnath (the highest perched) built above a small cave. Note that in the Jal Mandir, one of the three big temples, you will find a dharamsala (hostel for pilgrims), but reserved as a priority for Jaïns. It is therefore not clear to find a place for the night.
