NAKHODA MASJID
Mosque on Rabindra Sarani with dome, minarets and red arches, prayer hall with a capacity of 10,000 worshippers.
Built in 1926, this large mosque proudly stands on Rabindra Sarani, with its red arches, its dome and its white and green minarets. Its prayer hall can accommodate up to 10,000 worshipers! Located in the heart of the Burrubazar, the place is photogenic as one pleases, with its craftsmen, its porters and the streetcars which pass. Going down Rabindra Sarani, take a left on Coolotola Road, then the second right: you enter the old Chinatown, with its gigantic turquoise gate and its kitsch church, Nam Soon.
