PARK STREET CEMETERY
Cemetery housing the tombs of personalities who contributed to Kolkata's development during the British Raj, a great place for a stroll.
To go in search of the names of those who marked the colonial past of Calcutta, in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation and in a concert of crows and parrots, proves to be a very pleasant stroll. Classified as a protected site, it houses the tombs of personalities who participated in the development of the city during the British Raj. The oldest tombstone of the place is that of Sarah Pearson, dated September 8, 1768. The most famous is that of Major General Charles Stuart (1758-1828), nicknamed "Hindu Stuart" for his love of Indian culture.
