NEW MARKET
Huge covered market offering all kinds of items such as sweets, saris and antique Rajasthani statuettes.
Opened in 1874, the Hogg Market, commonly known as the New Market, is a huge covered market offering everything from sweets to antique Rajasthani statuettes and countless sari stores. You will also find butchers, poultry sellers, fruit and vegetable stalls. The walk is worth it as long as you ignore the touts. The central part (the oldest) of the market has kept all its character. Don't hesitate to visit Nahoum's Pastry Shop, and Pumposh-Kashmir Emporium to find a shawl.
