In the heart of the city, this superb hotel is part of the Elgin Hotels chain (Darjeeling, Gangtok, Peiling). In an elegant building built in 1932, the rooms, huge, are very comfortable and very well decorated. The terrace and the garden offer a view on the valley. The restaurant is good, but unfortunately lacks windows to let the daylight in, and a pleasant Tea Lounge & Bar. It is certainly not the best hotel of the chain, but if you are looking for luxury and comfort, you will not be disappointed.
