DIRECTORATE OF HANDICRAFTS & HANDLOOM
A type of small museum exhibiting shawls, carpets, ceremonial masks, thangkas, bamboo objects and furniture produced in Sikkim
The DHH was established to learn, preserve and promote local crafts. The small museum displays shawls, carpets, masks, thangkas and furniture produced in Sikkim. The museum part is a bit sad; the most interesting part is the visit of the different workshops that are committed to transmit the tradition of ancestral know-how to the younger generations: wood carving, ceremonial masks, bamboo objects, etc. A showroom allows you to acquire the fruit of their labor.
