Trek along a wide paved path through dense vegetation
The ascent from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is much harder than the one from Gangotri to Gaumukh, but no less beautiful. The route follows a wide paved path that winds its way through dense vegetation. Besides the dhabas that line the path, the village of Rambara marks the halfway point. About 3 km after Rambara, the large yellow building overlooking the gorge is an ashram. The view from there is breathtaking. Finally, after a last effort, the mounts Kedarnath (6 940 m) and Chaukhamba (7 140 m) offer themselves to you as a beautiful reward.
