MATA LAL DEVI MANDIR
Troglodytic Hindu temple dedicated to Lal Devi, with black-and-white photos on the walls and colorful snake statues...
This Hindu cave temple is dedicated to Lal Devi, a 20th century saint who represents fertility. Women come to pray before her statue, crawl through tunnels, walk in water and cross caves to reach the temple. Numerous colorful statues of snakes or depicting deities of the Hindu pantheon dot the sanctuary. Note the entrances of tunnels in the shape of a crocodile's mouth or a lion's mouth... Some black and white photos of the saint are also hung on the walls.
