PARTITION MUSEUM
Museum retracing the dramatic history of the partition of India, with its many victims, a must-see if you want to get to know the country
Inaugurated in 2017, this museum traces the dramatic history of the partition of India through the eyes of those who lived it. In 1947 British India was divided into two countries, India and Pakistan. Punjab was also split in two between the Muslim east and the Hindu west. The partition caused more than 800,000 victims and displaced nearly 20 million people of all religions. It is to perpetuate the duty of memory that this museum was created. An essential visit to understand the India of today.
