QILA MUBARAK
The fort that gave rise to the town of Patiala features a hall that today houses the Gallery of Arms and Candlesticks
In 1763, Baba Ala Singh built this fort which gave birth to the city of Patiala of which he became the first sovereign. His grandson, Maharaja Amar Singh, completed the construction. Then, the maharaja Narinder Singh built the Durban hall which today houses the gallery of arms and candlesticks. One can admire portraits of maharajas, daggers, knives (khukaries), hatchets and many firearms. The highlight of the visit: the jade weapons of Guru Gobind Singh, the last Guru. The visit of the fort is impossible because of its poor condition.
