MOORISH MOSQUE
The country's only Moorish mosque, paved with white marble and decorated inside by artists from the Lahore School of Art
The only Moorish mosque in the country, paved with white marble and whose interior dome was decorated by artists from the Lahore School of Art, is the work of the French architect Manteaux. Although a Sikh, Maharaja Jagatjit Singh made sure that the entire population felt integrated into his kingdom. Knowing that 60% of his subjects were Muslims, he commissioned the construction of this mosque. It is the only one in the country that does not have a minaret, but a tower. Unfortunately, it is badly maintained and would deserve some renovation.
