CHAIL PALACE

If you can afford it, get off at Chail Palace, an old Maharaja palace built in 1891 and converted into a luxury hotel. All rooms are different and have different rates as well. All rooms overlook the forest except the Maharaja suite which overlooks the lawn. The rooms are a little outdated with their flowered carpet and antique furniture. The palace is open all year round and is a change of scenery between Shimla and Solan.
