TSE-CHOKLING GOMPA
Multicolored monastery, quiet and conducive to meditation at the bottom of a steep staircase, holding large goatskin drums.
This beautiful multi-colored monastery, located at the bottom of a steep staircase just below the Om Guesthouse, contains large goatskin drums. Built in the 1980s, it is an exact copy of the 18th century Dip Tse Chokling temple, which was located in Tibet, near Lhasa, before being destroyed by the Chinese in 1959. One can observe the philosophical debates between the monks. The place is quiet and conducive to meditation. The site is not too visited by tourists and will interest travelers in search of authenticity.
