Monastery with beautiful frescoes, thangkas and Shakyamuki statue with representations of Maitreya Buddha and Mahakala.
This monastery which is more than 150 years old has splendid frescos and interesting thangkas. It shelters about a hundred monks of the Gelugpa current. A large statue of Shakyamuki (Buddha) is in the main hall, accompanied by representations of Maitreya Buddha and Mahakala (the protector of the Dharma). The visit is possible during the day provided that the rules of the monastery are respected. It is located outside Sumur. You can get there by taking an asphalt road from the exit of the nearby village of Tegar.
