HAJI ALI DARGAH
A strikingly white place of worship, set on a small peninsula at the end of a thin rocky jetty in the Arabian Sea
Set on a small peninsula at the end of a thin rocky jetty in the Arabian Sea, this strikingly white shrine was built in honor of the Sufi saint Haji Ali Shah Bukari, who drowned here about 500 years ago during a pilgrimage to Mecca. The interior is decorated with colorful mirror mosaics and crowded with worshippers praying at the saint's tomb. A mosque is adjacent to the tomb. One reaches it by a long pedestrian passage thrown above water, where one is constantly solicited by beggars.
