NGO founded in 1883, now the largest on the subcontinent, committed to the conservation of nature and natural resources
Founded in 1883, this NGO aims at exchanging observations on natural history, and exhibiting interesting specimens. Today, it is the largest non-governmental organization in the subcontinent committed to the conservation of nature and natural resources. The guiding principle of the Society has always been that conservation should be based on scientific research, a tradition initiated by its former president, Dr. Salim Ali.
