ALAMGIR MASJID
The emperor's personal mosque, located in what was once Aurangzeb's palace and built in the half of the century
This mosque is located in what was once Qila-Ark, the palace of Aurangzeb. If the palace has disappeared, we can still see parts of the fortress to get there. Built in the second half of the 17th century, it bears the title of the emperor, Alamgir. Not very imposing, it is the personal mosque of the emperor, which explains the name of Shahi Masjid (royal mosque) that is sometimes given to him. Unfortunately, successive restorations and additions such as the canopy, have somewhat disfigured the original structure.
