SAGAR LAKE HUSSAIN
Large, heart-shaped lake created in 1953 in downtown Hyderabad, marking the border between the city and Secunderabad
This large, heart-shaped lake is located in downtown Hyderabad. Created in 1953 by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, it now marks the border between Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Numerous parks and gardens, including the pleasant Lumbini Park, as well as restaurants and cafes are located on Necklace Road, the road that surrounds it. And in the middle, on a lotus flower on the Rock of Gibraltar, sits an imposing 18-meter high white granite statue of Buddha. Inaugurated in 1992, it weighs nearly 450 tons.
