BAPU MUSEUM
The Museum of the Department of Archaeology may have been renamed the Bapu Museum in honour of the revered Indian filmmaker, but everyone still calls it the Victoria Jubilee Museum. It presents beautiful sculptures and interesting paintings. The inscriptions of "Buddha Alluru", from the 1st and 2nd centuries, and "Mahishasura Mardhani" are the main elements of the exhibition. All this is housed in a beautiful Anglo-Indian style monument built in 1887 in honour of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The museum was dedicated to the industrial universe before becoming an archaeological museum in 1962.
