A long, clean sandy beach not far from the airport, ideal for swimming and watching the sunset

This long stretch of clean sand is located near the airport, 8 km from the city center. It is considered the residence (Arratakadavu) of Sri Ananthapadmanabhan, the main deity of the city, worshipped in the Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple. The water is suitable for bathing, but the place is especially popular for the sunset. There is a statue of a mermaid, cafes and games for children. The Veli Lake Tourist Village, a small park located around a lake where locals come to canoe, is located near the beach.
