Fort used by the British East India Company as an ammunition depot and warehouse for pepper, etc

Fort Anjengo was once the headquarters of the main garrison of the British East India Company. Completed in 1699, the fort served as an ammunition depot and a warehouse for pepper and other goods. Early 18th century graves are located nearby. The lighthouse offers a fantastic view of the surroundings. In the same area, Ponnumthuruthu Island (nicknamed Golden Island) is an island in the backwaters that can be reached by taking a fisherman's boat to the village of Nedunganda, to visit a Shiva temple.

We went fort from Anjengo scooter from Varkala. The fort in it even is interesting for fans of stories (a little less for the others!).
On the other hand a ride in the scooter to get there rest one of my best souvenirs of this journey in Kerala.
You follow beaches lined with fishing villages and everywhere you suggestions the curiosity of the inhabitants. Children especially is unforgettable, joys and burst of laughter!
