This magnificent palace is located on the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake. It was built between 1811 and 1819, during the reign of the Travancore princes. The architecture of the place is a mixture of British, Dutch and Portuguese influences. The princes of Travancore used this palace when they came to Kollam to meet the representatives of the British crown. There is a temple dedicated to Sastha inside the compound. This small architectural marvel, easy to access, is a historical monument of the region.
