It is the memorial of Kottarakkara Thampuran (a king), the father of Kathakali. The various styles of Kathakali are traced here and ornaments, rare musical instruments, sculptures, models of mohiniyattam and other classical dances, 108 natya kiranangal (songs accompanying the dances), etc. are on display. There are various interesting temples in the vicinity, including the Sree Mahaganapathi temple, which is dedicated to Ganesh (also called Ganapati).
