Dating from 1550, it is the oldest church in central Kerala. It has a very old granite Nestorian cross, surrounded by a Persian inscription. Inside, the hotel is made of painted rosewood. The Syrian Orthodox Church in Malankra is one of the branches of Christianity that claims to be heir to the teachings of St. Thomas. Currently, there are more than 2.5 million believers around the world, with a large majority in Kerala.
