Anamudi Peak, at 2,695 metres above sea level, is the highest peak in Kerala and South India! It lies within the Eravikulam National Park, and can even be seen from Munnar. It is called "Anai Mudi" in Tamil. Its name means "elephant's forehead", due to the mountain's humped shape. The site is protected and therefore off-limits to trekkers. If you'd like to hike in the area, you can explore the nearby Rajamala Hills, adjacent to the park.
