Colourful temple dedicated to Sreevallabha, a must-see for the traditional Kathakali show held every evening
This colorful temple dedicated to Sreevallabha, a form of Vishnu, is one of the oldest in Kerala. Its particularity is that it presents every evening a traditional kathakali show, a theatrical representation mixing dance, mimes and artists dressed in costumes and make-up, which lasts all night. It is an authentic program which is not intended for tourists but for locals, to be reserved for the passionate and the curious. It is possible to go there by train from Kottayam and to sleep at the DTPC Complex, right next to the temple.
