Small temple south of Elliot's Beach, dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi and her 8 forms, with altars to Vishnu and Ganesh

The small Ashtalakshmi Temple, located south of Elliot's Beach, is undoubtedly one of the most unique in Chennai. This recent temple, consecrated in 1976, with its four floors, its marvelous structures, its pillars, its complex roof and its bright colors attracts the attention of the visitors. It is dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi and her eight forms, each representing success, progeny, prosperity, wealth, courage, food and knowledge. Altars are also dedicated to Dashvantara (a form of Vishnu) and Ganesh.
