TIRUKALUKUNDRAM
Village has become an important pilgrimage center with a temple dedicated to Shiva and offering a beautiful view of the surrounding area from the summit
This village is an important pilgrimage center with its temple dedicated to Shiva called Eagle Temple. According to the legend, two eagles would come every day at noon from Varanasi, the holiest city of the Shivaïtes. Located at the top of a hill, you have to climb 500 steps barefoot to reach it. From there, the view of the surroundings is splendid and deserves a visit. There is another interesting temple as well as a gigantic theertam (pool). Renting a scooter or a moped will allow you to enjoy the beautiful landscape leading to it.
